Known in this circle for building the original DeLoreans, Kevin Pike and his company FILMTRIX, Inc. have won or been nominated for every award you’ve ever heard of and have been recognized by pretty much every association worth mentioning. His career started in 1975 with JAWS and is still going strong today.
The first time I met Kevin was during one of Gary Weaver II’s rare West coast appearances... Gary was the contact with Kevin @ the time and we’d been trying to meet up his entire trip. One day Kevin had nothing going on and asked that we bring the car up to his house so he could show his kids what was essentially his work. (they weren’t born back in 1985) Upon seeing what we had done with the car he was very pleased and consequently very generous with his knowledge and memory of the original builds. Kevin and I got along very quickly, realizing we were from the same area with similar backgrounds. He was an incredibly gracious host that evening and even went so far as taking us all out to dinner afterward where the conversation and good times continued. We began our friendship that night and have maintained it ever since.
