4.28.2009 - BOB GALE’S HOUSE! Recently I was lucky enough to be invited to Bob Gale’s house in Los Angeles. Sam Maccarone’s DeLorean Time Machine documentary involved an interview with Gale and Bob decided that having a DeLorean there would be a good idea. I have known Bob before from previous interactions but had never been invited to his house. He was incredibly generous with his time and surprisingly gracious welcoming the small film crew into his home. Bob shared many stories and experiences as well as showed off many of his screen used props, (including his Mr. Fusion lamp made by Michael Lantieri and his original time circuits right out of the smashed DeLorean) before moving outside to go over the car. At that point some neighbors he invited came by to see the car and they encouraged Bob to bring out his screen used hoverboards from BTTF 2. He’s got an original Pit Bull and a pink Mattel that actually hovers. At this point, everyone was beyond geekery, (including Bob) so, he brought out his real Mr. Fusion and put it on the back deck of the DeLorean next to ours. This was obviously WAY too cool!!!
