5.18.2009 - TRILOGY SCREENING IN SANTA MONICA on MAY 30th

Our DeLorean time machine will be featured @ the Aero Theater later this month for a wonderful occasion. American Cinemateque is screening the entire trilogy in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Back to the Future, part 2. Starting @ 5pm on May 30th, the Aero will show BTTF and it’s sequels on the BIG SCREEN. If you can make it, I’d highly recommend it. I don’t know what they’re expecting as a turnout, but to be safe, I’d buy your tickets online here...

ONLY $10 for ALL THREE FILMS!

We’re in the process of assembling a panel now... hopefully more to come on that later...

I’ll be there along with some close BTTF friends... please come out and say hello. :)https://www.fandango.com/purchase/movietickets/process03/ticketboxoffice.aspx?row_count=715358916&mid=124271&tid=AACPDshapeimage_13_link_0

4.25.2009 - HOLLYWOOD SHOW

Well, we just got back from the recent Back to the Future cast and crew reunion @ the Hollywood Show in Burbank, CA. A great time was had by all and it was great to see all the other DeLoreans. In all, there were about 25 or so DeLoreans in attendence... (the nice lady in the photo above is Elsa Raven... better known as the “Save the clocktower!” lady... she actually told me... “Don’t forget to take a flyer” as she handed this one to me... truly one of my favorite moments.)

4.24.2009 - UPGRADES GALORE!

In getting ready for the show, we wanted to get the time machine in as good a shape as we could with the limited time we had. I flew into LA on Wednesday and went straight to work on Thursday morning. Nothing major, but many of the shortcomings were addressed and a lot of the temporary placeholder items were replaced with the actual pieces, ie: green tubes. I also basically rebuilt the back deck while I was at it.

4.26.2009 - AFTERPARTY

After the show, we all time traveled back to Sean’s house in Pasadena. He recently purchased and is currently restoring a hundred year old craftsman home in Pasadena, CA. It’s located a few blocks from Bushnell Ave where they shot Loraine’s, George’s and Biff’s homes and is about two miles from the Gamble House, (Doc Brown’s mansion) so basically he moved right into Hill Valley, California circa 1955. Above is a nice shot of the builders: (counterclockwise from top left) Gary Weaver, Ryder Davis, Sean Bishop, Evan Duam, Danny Botkin and J Ryan (Evan may have bought his car but he’s done enough custom modifications to it that I consider him a builder) Also... note the photos above the group. :)

4.28.2009 - BOB GALE’S HOUSE!

Recently I was lucky enough to be invited to Bob Gale’s house in Los Angeles. Sam Maccarone’s DeLorean Time Machine documentary involved an interview with Gale and Bob decided that having a DeLorean there would be a good idea. I have known Bob before from previous interactions but had never been invited to his house. He was incredibly generous with his time and surprisingly gracious welcoming the small film crew into his home.

Bob shared many stories and experiences as well as showed off many of his screen used props, (including his Mr. Fusion lamp made by Michael Lantieri and his original time circuits right out of the smashed DeLorean) before moving outside to go over the car. At that point some neighbors he invited came by to see the car and they encouraged Bob to bring out his screen used hoverboards from BTTF 2. He’s got an original Pit Bull and a pink Mattel that actually hovers. At this point, everyone was beyond geekery, (including Bob) so, he brought out his real Mr. Fusion and put it on the back deck of the DeLorean next to ours. This was obviously WAY too cool!!!

Many thanks to Bob Gale for his hospitality and his continued support of the Back to the Future fans around the world.

5.07.2009 - MESSAGE BOARD - ONLINE NOW!

When we started this site, we always intended to NOT have a message board because of Gary’s www.BTTFParts.com. He had the market and the member base and we saw no reason to toy with something that wasn’t broken. Our goal was to fill the gap with a historical telling of the actual time machine’s design and construction while also showcasing our and others time machine replicas. That was... until today...

With the recent closing of “Parts” a door is opened for a new forum. A forum aimed @ discussion, brainstorming, even debate with the main goal being fun for all involved. A place where we can try and figure out what parts go where, or a place to just shoot the shit about the crazy guy @ the gas station who insists he saw our car crash land here 30 years ago.

This is supposed to be fun and for most of us, that’s still the goal. I personally have made a lot of friends thanks to the prop-building hobby and that’s what I care about. The people are important to me, not who’s car is the best. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished, but is our car the best one out there? Hell no! But, you know what? We had a blast building it and I love it... warts and all.

A lot of the headaches in this hobby have come from egos and bad blood stemming so far down the line it’s hard to trace anymore. None of that matters to us. We weren’t involved in it and we don’t care about it. It’s clean slate time. All sins are forgiven and all builders/fans are welcome. Content will not be edited, censored or dictated. The only rule is for everyone to have a good time and don’t take it too seriously... it’s supposed to be FUN!!! :)

With that... I hope you choose to sign up. Participation is encouraged but not required. :)

11.12.2009 - San Diego Convention Center - dotloop booth

Dotloop, a company started by Ken Koncelik’s son in law, claims to bring the old game of real estate BACK TO THE FUTURE.  They contacted me to bring the DeLorean to the San Diego Convention Center for the NAR convention 11/12-17/2009.

It was great fun... Here’s a link to a blogger’s video.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAtoFilQPBE&feature=player_embedded
