In all, three cars were made for Back to the Future.  Two in full form and a third was cut up to use for insert shots and process work.  Out of these three original vehicles, only one is known to exist today...

Although all the UNIVERSAL theme parks, (Hollywood included) have a replica DeLorean on display, accessible to all... only UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD plays host to the last surviving ORIGINAL time machine from the films.

It has occupied many purposes over the years with it’s level of function and sadly, it’s disrepair varying greatly.  Below you can see a few shots that have been taken over the years.  Ranging from it’s location right after filming to it’s current position on the “Backlot tram tour”

This area is still under construction.  Content will be updated frequently.

It would appear the only part of the DeLorean that avoided a humiliating afterlife on the Universal backlot was the Mr. Fusion...

It somehow avoided the ill fate of the rest of the car and has been lucky enough to enjoy twenty years in the personal collection of producer, Bob Gale.

After principle photography was complete, Michael Lantieri (Special Effects Supervisor) took the Mr. Fusion and made it into a desk lamp for the writer/producer.  (see below)
